1. Welcome to Rumblings of a Fool — A Journey Through Faith, Doubt, and Everything In Between

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” — Psalms 14:1

Well… here I am.

Welcome to Rumblings of a Fool — my personal dive into atheism, belief, doubt, wonder, science, and everything in between.

This blog is for everyone — believer, skeptic, agnostic, apostate, spiritually curious.

Whether you’re here to wrestle with your beliefs or just to see what the other side thinks, you’re welcome.

This isn’t a warzone — it’s a conversation.

No shouting. No mockery. Just honest, respectful curiosity. Even if we don’t agree, let’s at least try to understand each other.

What Is Rumblings of a Fool About?

This project is a personal and intellectual unpacking of some of life’s biggest questions:

Why do people believe in gods?

How did religion evolve?

Is there morality without divine authority?

What fills the gap when faith fades?

I’ll be writing about:

The evolution of religion — how belief systems adapt, spread, and serve human needs.

Cognitive science of belief — pattern-seeking, theory of mind, hyperactive agency detection.

The God of the Gaps — and why using “God” to explain the unknown doesn’t hold up.

Psychology and anthropology of faith — religion as tribal glue, as comfort, as control.

Secular meaning-making — purpose, morality, and awe without a divine author.

Critiques of religious arguments — Pascal’s Wager, the Moral Argument, Fine-tuning, and more.

Myths, rituals, and metaphors — understanding religion as culture, not literal truth.

Coming out as an atheist — and what happens next.

Why This? Why Now?

Because I spent years deeply perplexed by religiousness — fascinated by it, frustrated by it, shaped by it.

Because I questioned everything, and those questions never stopped.

Because I believe that doubting is not dangerous — it’s necessary.

Because I want to create space for others who are asking the same things.

Because I believe in ideas tested by evidence, not protected by fear.

Because being called a “fool” never stopped me from thinking.

Who Is This For?

Believers who are genuinely curious about atheism.

Skeptics searching for language to describe their doubt.

Ex-believers navigating the fallout of faith.

Thinkers, feelers, questioners.

Anyone who’s ever looked at the night sky and asked, “What the hell is all this?”

If you’re thoughtful, open-minded, and not afraid of discomfort — welcome.

If you’re ready to explore ideas with honesty and humility — you’ll fit right in.

What to Expect

This isn’t an academic lecture — but it is thoughtful.

This isn’t a rage blog — but it is critical.

This isn’t a sermon — but it might move you.

This is an exploration — part science, part philosophy, part personal journal.

You’ll find essays that question, unpack, poke holes, build bridges, and sometimes just marvel at the weirdness of being alive.

Let’s Begin

Rumblings of a Fool is not about answers.

It’s about better questions.

It’s about mapping the space where belief ends and wonder begins.

It’s about what it means to live without gods — but not without meaning.

And I’m glad you’re here for the ride.

Sidenote, this is not a frontend project, very little effort will be put to make this blog look visually appalling,
